OSHAWA – The City of Oshawa encourages pet owners and their families to take part in May is Responsible Pet Ownership Month in Oshawa.
During the month of May, activities include a drawing contest for children ages 8 to 12, a pet adoption day and a low-cost microchip and rabies vaccination clinic.
Vet for a Day Drawing Contest
Children ages 8 to 12 can participate in a drawing contest for the chance to become Vet for the Day, which is the opportunity to shadow for two hours a veterinarian at Baker’s Animal Clinic (1627 Dundas St. E., Whitby).
Visit www.oshawa.ca/petowners to download the drawing page or pick up a hard copy at Baker’s Animal Clinic, Service Oshawa, Oshawa Animal Services or other participating locations (for a complete list of participating locations, visit www.oshawa.ca/petowners).
Once the child has drawn or illustrated a picture showing a responsible pet owner doing something good for their pet, the drawing must be submitted by an Oshawa resident 18 years of age or older either by drop off at one of the participating locations or via email to email@example.com before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Visit www.oshawa.ca/petowners for full contest terms and conditions.
